Delicious dinner while we were on holiday from Melbourne in Launceston. A very busy restaurant. Highlight of the night was the Mango Sticky Rice. Thank you for a delicious meal and a memorable dessert! Yum.
The food was all delicious ๐ Every bite made my day better. My family were visitors from Brisbane and were touring Tasmania while we were looking for restaurants we found Star of Siam. We didn't know if it be good so we just went. That was probably the best choice I've ever made. The prices are ok considering the fact that it's super easy to access along with its record breaking food. My kids said that the food really made our stay in Launceston the best city in Tasmania.
My green curry was just perfect! Not too spicy, which I loved. The staff are very friendly and happy. Everyone is wearing a smile. The restaurant was full, so obviously a popular place.
Authentic Thai Delight During our recent visit to this cozy Thai restaurant, we were delighted by the authenticity and bold flavors of each dish. From the moment we stepped in, the warm ambiance and the inviting aroma of Thai spices set the perfect tone for an enjoyable dining experience. The Dishes We Ordered 1. Warm Tofu & Vegetable Salad โ This was a pleasant surprise! Unlike the usual cold salads, this warm version added a comforting touch to the fresh vegetables and soft tofu. The dressing was well-balanced, combining tangy, sweet, and slightly spicy notes that enhanced the overall taste. 2. Sweet and Sour Beef Stir-Fry โ The beef was cooked to perfection, tender yet slightly crispy on the edges. The sweet and sour sauce had a great balance of flavors, not overly sweet nor too tangy, just the right amount to make every bite irresistible. The addition of fresh bell peppers and onions brought a delightful crunch, complementing the tender meat beautifully. 3. Pad Thai with Chicken โ A must-try classic! The noodles were cooked just right, not too soft nor too chewy. The sauce had a rich, authentic tamarind base, giving it a balanced sweet, sour, and savory taste. The chicken was well-seasoned and paired perfectly with the crushed peanuts and fresh lime, adding layers of texture and flavor. Our Verdict - Weโre giving this restaurant a solid 9 out of 10! The flavors were true to traditional Thai cuisine, staying authentic while also catering to local palates. The quality of the ingredients, the balance of flavors, and the thoughtful presentation made our meal truly enjoyable. The only reason we held back from a perfect score was that we always believe thereโs room for a little extra magic. If youโre looking for an authentic Thai dining experience, this place is definitely worth a visit. Great food, warm ambiance, and a genuine taste of Thailandโwhat more could you ask for?
As a big fan of Thai cuisine, I had high expectations for Star of Siam, and Iโm happy to say I wasnโt disappointed. The food was flavorful, authentic, and prepared with care, making it a delightful dining experience. One of the highlights of my meal was the Thai seafood fried rice. I asked for it to be made with less oil, and the staff were happy to accommodate my request. The dish was cooked perfectly, with a good balance of flavors and fresh seafood. I also added some tofu to the fried rice, which blended beautifully with the rest of the ingredients. Every bite was a treat, and I truly enjoyed it. The service was attentive and friendly, making me feel comfortable and welcome. Itโs always a pleasure to dine at a place where the staff genuinely care about meeting your preferences. Star of Siam is a great spot for anyone who loves Thai food. With their delicious dishes and willingness to customize meals to your liking, itโs easy to see why this place stands out. Iโll definitely be returning to try more items on their menu. Highly recommended for Thai food enthusiasts!
