This is one of my go-to Thai takeaway spots in the CBD. Portions are very generous, prices are reasonable (usually under $20 per person), and the flavours are consistently on point. The Pad Kra Pao is a standout — freshly minced meat, fragrant basil, adjustable spice level, and especially good with pork and a fried egg. It’s one of those dishes that’s simple but done right, and you can tell it’s cooked to order rather than rushed. The shop itself is small and clearly focused on takeaway, so food comes out quickly. Pad Thai and the squid dishes are also reliable choices, with well-balanced seasoning and no unnecessary heaviness.

Satang Thai Takeaway is a great spot for reliable, flavour-packed Thai food. Everything we ordered was fresh, well-seasoned, and cooked with that signature wok aroma that makes their dishes so enjoyable. We tried the Pad See Ew, Panang Curry, and the Beef Stir Fry with Peanut Sauce. Overall, a solid and satisfying meal: generous portions, good value, and consistent flavours. Stumbled upon this affordable and convenient Thai spot in Haymarket for under $20 We had the chicken wings – super juicy, perfectly seasoned and crispy. The Tom Yum with prawns was rich, aromatic and full of flavour. The pineapple fried rice with beef had juicy pineapple chunks however, had a twist with interesting spices. The seafood Mee Krob Laddna was a standout — crispy noodles coated in thick, rich gravy. Perfect for a quick and affordable meal, though seating is limited so best to go early.

I loved their Pad Thai, Ginger Fish and Yellow Curry – each dish was packed with flavour and great value for money. The small dine-in space is cosy if you want to eat there, but it’s also perfect for takeaway. Definitely a go-to spot for authentic Thai food!
