Coming back into Brisbane we wanted to try something new. Being Thai we thought sAme sAme would be another Thai asian place but we were wrong. The food was Asian with a Modern twist, turning contemporary Thai cuisine into something new and exciting to eat whilst maintain the depth of flavour we expect from Thai food. We ordered mamy dishes but these two stood out the most for me. First the Ox Toung was out of this world. It was soft and did not smell at all. Eaten with the cured egg yolk, galangal chili paste, and beatle leaf offers a perfect balance flavour. Secondly, id recommemd the banna flower salad as it is a great dish to help balance the deep intense flavours of the other dishes available. The food overall was great and we were not dissapointed, the price was moderate, but for what we got, It was worth every penny. I would like to highlight the service provided by the staff. All the staff who served us were extremely polite and energetic making our night ever more enjoyable. A special shout out to Mei who was serving our section. She was proactive and consistently checking up on us. Our glass were always full with water or drinks and our empty plates were cleared away soon after we finished eating. She displayed the pinnacle of what the service industry has to offer. The restaurant is located in this commual kinda food up town area of the Fortitude valley and there's plenty of parking when we went. The bit i was sitting was a bit dark for my liking but it was alright and was able to read fine. I do wonder how the kitchen staff could see though, as their was very little light around the kitchen as well. Overall, great food, good location and amazing service and dining experience. Definitly recommend and will be coming back next time.

We stayed at The Calile, which made Same Same an easy choice as it’s directly opposite — and we’re very glad we went. We were seated at the counter, which was a great experience as we could watch the chefs at work and really feel part of the action. The staff were very knowledgeable and genuinely smiley, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They recommended an excellent Australian Riesling, which we especially appreciated — coming from Germany, we’re quite particular about a good Riesling, and this one did not disappoint. The food was outstanding and instantly brought us back to our last holidays in Thailand, full of flavour and beautifully balanced. Combined with the buzzing, lively atmosphere, it made for a fantastic evening. We’d happily return on our next visit to Brisbane.

We had a reservation for 5:00 pm and arrived on time. We were seated immediately, and our food was served around 5:30 pm. As we ordered main dishes, we understood the wait, and the food itself was delicious. The atmosphere was also very nice. However, the service was extremely disappointing. We were seated near the window facing the street, and throughout our meal a staff member repeatedly came out and stood in front of us, checking on us and walking back and forth. At first, we assumed they were simply monitoring the tables. Around 6:10 pm, while we were still eating and I was literally chewing my food, the staff member immediately cleared our plates as soon as they saw an empty one. It felt rushed and uncomfortable, as if we were being pushed to leave. I then went to the bathroom briefly, and when I returned, my partner was already waiting outside. According to my partner, a staff member brought the bill, immediately followed with the EFTPOS machine, and told him that there was another booking and asked us to leave. We were informed upon entry that there was a 1.5-hour time limit, which we agreed to, but this happened well before that time had passed. The food and ambience were great, but the service completely ruined the experience. Being constantly watched during the meal and then asked to leave before the agreed time is not acceptable. We truly enjoyed the food, but unfortunately left feeling very uncomfortable and disappointed.

Emily who was dedicated for our table service was absolutely amazing, such fun, bubbly personality and was super helpful in helping my wife with some alternative options to the seafood dishes, nothing was too much or too little to ask. The food was too die for, we had the $130 banquet and it was to die for, great portion sizes. This is my 2nd time at Same Same and I can’t wait to book a table here again. We celebrated a milestone anniversary here. What an unforgettable evening. From our arrival where we received a special card & complimentary champagne. Head chef, Arte, made our meal very memorable. The food was delicious Thai cuisine, one of our faves. Seated by the busy kitchen, we saw a very well organised team put together an amazing amt of meals. We would highly recommend dining here, though not for those wanting a quiet intimate backdrop. We will definitely be back next visit to Brisvegas. Thank you so much Arte!
