We were really disappointed with our visit to Sai Mai. โ ๏ธ The food took far too long to be served. We ordered, paid, and waited for 40 minutes, but nothing came out. I went to ask the staff, and they claimed everything had already been made. I pointed to our table and said we hadnโt received a single dish. Then one staff member found our receipt and realised that our order had only just been sent to the kitchen. They had completely forgotten to make our food. โ ๏ธ The food quality didnโt match the price. The portions were very small for what we paid, and it was obvious they had reduced the serving sizes. I ordered two servings of deep fried pork. When it finally arrived, the meat was undercooked, so I sent it back. When they re-served it, the portion was much smaller, roughly the size of one serving. When I mentioned it, the staff insisted that it was two servings. The staff did try to offer ice cream and desserts to make up for the delay, but overall, we were still very disappointed with the experience.
Iโm surprised this place has such high reviews. The portions were very small for the price, and the flavor was just average. Iโm originally from Sydney and honestly found the prices here even higher than what Iโd pay back homeโwhich was a shock. Overall, I left disappointed and wouldnโt rush back.
The isan papaya salad here is the best Iโve ever had, and the rest of the dishes are just as delicious. Every bite is full of authentic flavor definitely my favorite spot to eat
Tried this Thai restaurant in Adelaide and it really felt like being back in Thailand! The Som Tum (papaya salad) was super spicy and flavorful โ just the way it should be. The Pad Krapow Gai (basil chicken) tasted authentically Thai. Of course, no Thai restaurant is complete without Pad Thai, and theirs was delicious. The Nam Tok Moo (grilled pork salad) had that true Northeastern Isaan flavor. And finally, the Kao Lao Moo (pork soup) was so tasty it made me miss Thailand right away. Highly recommended if youโre in Adelaide and craving real Thai food!
I ordered a takeaway drunken noodles. Today the chef decided to put in herbs and vegetables suitable for the green bin. The cabbage has a sour taste already and I still can taste it though the mild spicy noodles , the basil or herbs already turn yellow. Dear chef you are selling this meal, itโs not your home meal. Donโt save small money to disappoint your regulars customers.
