Great experience! Food was exceptional at a fair price. Atmosphere and decor give this place a really cool vibe
Phat boy had been one of those CBD spots we keep coming back to! Big Thai flavours, buzzing atmosphere and reasonable prices. This spot is perfect for group dinners, date nights or whenever Thai cravings hit! Expect bold curries, wok-fried classics and seafood dishes made to share. Our picks: ๐ฅ mixed entree $19 ๐ฅฉ diy beef skewer set $25 ๐ slow cooked beef rib massaman curry $19.9 ๐ pad thai chicken $17.9 ๐ฆ duck & mandarin salad $22.9 ๐ฆ kung tung (share for two) $55 ๐ฅฅ roasted coconut ice cream $16.9 ๐ฅญ mango sticky rice $15.9 The seafood jumbo is a total standout โ poured straight onto the table and packed with bold chilli flavours. ๐ฅ๐ฆ And the desserts are SO good. Both hit, but the roasted coconut ice cream is a MUST โ creamy, fragrant and served in a real coconutโฆ easily one of the best ways to finish the meal.
We ordered the slow-cooked beef rib at Fat Boy. It was really tasty and super tender. I also had a fresh coconut drink, which was just okay. The wait wasnโt bad, and the price was reasonable.
Overall, the portion sizes were far too small. We paid about $105 for a four-person set meal, but it felt more like enough for two. We asked the staff about it, and they said they would look into it, but we never received a response. The seafood dishes were salty, and although the pad thai and fried rice were tasty, the portions were extremely small. Considering the price, it wasnโt satisfying, although the food itself did taste good.
What an amazing find this was. It was such a great vibe, so busy. The staff worked so hard and did a great job with a packed Friday night crowd. The duck spring rolls were the best spring rolls in have ever had. I also had a Duck Laksa noodles which was nice. So hard to choose feom so many delicious looking items on the menu. Really affordable prices. Would happily return again and again. I even bought some more of the duck spring rolls to take home to my other half who missed out.
