We visited Hunter & Barrel Parramatta as a group of five and overall had a great lunch. The location is spot-on, and the venue looks fantastic inside, with outdoor tables adding to the vibe, stylish, comfortable, and perfect for a long, chatty catch-up. We chose the Power Lunch, but naturally, drinks came first because starting lunch without a beverage feels emotionally irresponsible. I went for the non-alcoholic mocktail โLove Thy Lycheeโ (refreshing and delicious), while the rest of the group bravely committed to cocktails like champions. Starters Garlic Bread โ cheesy, garlicky, and gone far too quickly. Calamari โ absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked, great portion, and honestly fault-free. Mains Wagyu Beef Burger โ very tasty, but the thick-cut chips completely stole the spotlight. Lamb Shank โ not my personal love language, but those who ordered it said it melted in your mouth and was fantastic. Crispy Prawn Tacos (2 pcs) โ OMG levels of good, but also a full-contact sport to eat. Incredible flavour, though next time, NO coriander, more dignity. Desserts Blood Orange & Apple Sorbet โ light, refreshing, and the perfect grand finale. Basque Cheesecake โ unfortunately a let-down. Dense, heavy, and tasted like it had seen better days. A hard pass. Service Service wasโฆ mysterious. Staff were so quiet they almost felt invisible. Minimal smiles, minimal interaction, and theyโd suddenly appear like ninjas only when plates were empty. Not rude, just weirdly stealthy vibes. Overall Great food, great venue, and a fun lunch experience slightly held back by dessert and service. Still worth visiting, and weโd happily return (but the cheesecake might need a redemption arc).
We went there for Monday brunch. We ordered from the express lunch menu. The food was good, however the salad was a bit salty and my daughter found a small bone like a fish bone in her lamb shank, also the steak was a bit dry. The service was excellent and the decor and the atmosphere were nice. There are outdoor seatings as well.
I'm a usual diner in the City for dining on nice occasions and needed a more convenient location. Randomly decided to book at Hunter & Barrel for my bday with family. Our experience with absolutely top tier, service was exquisite, food came out in a timely manner with efficiency and quality was also fantastic. Every meal from starters and sides to mains was an enjoyment with every bite. Already have recommended to friends and also to anyone.
Came for ribs but found out their basting sauce has seafood. Really appreciated that they asked about allergies and checked. Was forced to order something else that was good, but wasnโt the ribs I came for! Bone marrow was yummy though!
Warm and Welcoming! This little find is a must-try for beef lovers. We ordered the Hunterโs Feast, which came with a juicy chicken skewer โ tender, slightly sweet, and perfectly cooked (not dry at all!). It also included a half rack of pork or beef โ we went with the pork, and it was absolutely delicious. The smoky BBQ sauce coated the soft, melt-in-your-mouth pork beautifully. The rump steak was cooked to perfection โ medium rare, just as we like it. Also 2 sausages too! and everything was paired with crispy golden chips. Our waiter was all smiles and super friendly, adding to the relaxed, welcoming vibe. We had such a fun time and left with happy hearts (and full bellies)!
