I ate here with my family, and despite not having a booking, they were able to accommodate all eight of us. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the robot server added a fun touch as it made its way to our table. The food was great and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was relaxed, with background music that enhanced the experience without overpowering conversation.

Having just come back from Thailand the food is pretty much on par. Nice place grab dinner and the pork bone soup is really nice. Add more chilli for that authentic Thai experience. Can be a bit of a wait when it's busy but otherwise it's great

An excellent Thai dining experience. Every dish was packed with flavour and beautifully presented. The ambience was warm and inviting, making it perfect for a relaxed dinner. Highly recommended for Thai food lovers.

It was our first time back at Doodee since the renovation of the basement restaurant, and it definitely feels different. The space looks refreshed, but I have to say I miss the old setup — especially the live band they used to have on some nights. Unfortunately, there wasn’t any live music when we visited last Sunday, which used to be part of the charm. The food, thankfully, is still very good. We ordered the 4-person set, and the standout dish was definitely the raw prawns — they’re a must-order every time! The combination of fresh prawns, garlic, and sauce was just perfect. The crab fried rice was another highlight, full of flavour and great to share. However, not everything impressed. The fried pipis had more shells than meat (see photo), which was a bit disappointing. The salad platter was average — nice to share but nothing too memorable. The set also came with a jar of Thai milk tea, which was tasty but quite sweet. One noticeable change is the pricing. Doodee used to be one of Melbourne’s great cheap eats, but it’s definitely more expensive now. While the quality remains good, it’s lost a bit of that old, casual charm that made it a favourite spot for many. Overall, still a solid Thai eatery in the city, but I miss the old vibe and better value.

We went for their Sunday’s special - Thai Seafood Feast! The whole feast was $169 and actually fed us 6 pretty well! Portion was generous and every dish was fresh, flavourful and spicy too (highly recommend to go mild) 😮‍💨🤣 The dishes were served pretty quick too! 💯 We ordered some add ons because we wanted to eat everything 😂😂😂 Personally love their steam coconut rice balls! It was a perfect sweet finish to the feast!
