I think I found a new favourite spot in Richmond! I called ahead to ask about the vegan options and can say that two of the items were absolutely bangin’. The items are not on the menu, but the chef made them specially. The first was a veganised version of the fish toast starter, and the second was a mushroom dish (not pictured). I would go back just to eat these two, and have one of their dirty martini’s again! Yum Also service was attentive and friendly :) P.s. can highly recommend this bottle of Pinot Gris.

The kitchen knows what they are doing, the bar knows what they are doing, the front of the house know what they are doing, the backyard garden knows what it is doing. It’s just good throughout. The menu varies, but the dishes usually punch more flavour than you’d expect by description, and it’s a nice surprise every time.

Walking into Clover Wine, I instantly fell in love with the space. It’s moody, elegant, and beautifully designed—exactly what you’d expect from a great wine bar. Wine bottles line the walls, a central high table welcomes small groups, and booth seating along the sides creates an intimate vibe. Simple yet refined, it’s the kind of setting that truly elevates the dining experience. The staff were so friendly and attentive, always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. The menu is small but perfect for sharing, which meant we could try a variety of dishes. Each of us ordered a cocktail to go with the meal—I especially loved my margarita (and the gorgeous glass it was served in). We started with six oysters, which unfortunately weren’t to our taste—quite fishy and needing a stronger garnish. But everything else was outstanding: the salumi, the raw fish with apple and jalapeño, the calamari with asparagus and salted ham, followed by the lamb chop with braised sunflower and labne, plus a side of roasted potatoes with savoury butter. Every dish was delicious, balanced, and beautifully presented—the perfect amount of food for the three of us. Overall, Clover Wine Bar was the ideal spot to catch up with girlfriends, enjoy amazing cocktails, and share plates of incredible food. A truly memorable night.

Top tier experience. Sit up at the bar if you get the opportunity. Stellar menu and wine list. Was hosted by Ellen and she was an absolute delight. Some of the best chicken I’ve ever had. Highly recommend.

Beautiful selection of wines! The sommelier was very helpful and her suggestions were spot on each time. A+ service. We were seated in line with the door draft which took away from the ambience a little. Set menu is great value, just wasn’t a fan of how heavily smoke featured through the menu, as it’s quite an overpowering flavour profile. Still yum.
