Service was 5/5. Everyone was polite, respectful and attentive. And the food actually lived up to the hype. I got the bánh cuốn nhân chay and it was 11.5/10. So much flavour, even without dipping into the fish sauce. And of course the actual rice rolls were perfect - so chewy and stretchy. The outdoor seating is the proper Vietnamese way, too, and I hope they never change that (even the sticky tables)! This place deserves all the love it’s getting. Limited selection, but very good food. Great value for money. Spaces can be a bit tight. And chairs are as low as in Hanoi itself ;-)
The Vietnamese ravioli (bánh cuốn) here are a must-try. Made fresh to order, they’re beautifully soft, delicate, and full of flavour. The selection of chả on the side, including chả lụa and other tasty varieties, is excellent and rounds the dish out perfectly. Worth the trip to Marrickville alone. Expect a wait during peak hours. Still highly recommended.
Delicious food, quick service, and authentic street-food vibes! If you’re after low-key Vietnamese that’s fresh and super tasty, this is the place to go. There’s usually a line for a table on weekends, but the wait isn’t too long because the staff cook everything so quickly. The pork broth has an amazing umami flavour, and I love how the team create such delicious dishes out of such a small kitchen. Absolutely delicious!

Bánh cuốn needs to be as popular as other Vietnamese dishes, and I hope Banh Cuon Ba Oanh can lead that movement in Sydney at least! I want to go back again and again, but it’s probably best that I live a bit far away because I’d be eating this everyday. It’s that good.
The Vietnamese rice rolls are quite nice here. The pork soup is good as well. Saigon salted coffee is a first for me and I like it. I couldn’t believe salted coffee can be this nice. We were seated in the alley and it’s like we were transported to Asia. It’s interesting and nice. There was a long queue when we were there but it moves quickly. Recommended.
